Early-Phase Multiple Mini Interview via Video Interviews

All applicants who successfully submit an application to the Queen’s University and/or University of Ottawa MD programs will be contacted in early October, shortly after the OMSAS application deadline, with instructions to schedule their early-phase Multiple Mini Interview (MMI).

The MMIs should last approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes and take place asynchronously (recorded video responses). At this time, it will consist of 8 interview stations and a rest station in the middle.

Please be aware that this is a tentative format and subject to change. Further details will be provided in October when we contact applicants who successfully submitted an application.

Important information:

If you are applying to both a French and English program, you will not be able to complete both interviews on the same day. You must schedule each language interview on separate dates.

For Queen’s University applicants: Only the English early-phase MMI is accepted.

For University of Ottawa applicants: You must complete the early phase MMI in the same language stream selected in your University of Ottawa application. If you applied to the English stream, you must complete the MMI in English. If you applied to the French stream, you must complete the MMI in French. Failure to complete the early phase MMI in the correct language will result in disqualification of your application.

Exceptions will not be provided for applicants who are unable to take the early-phase MMI during one of the available test dates.

To account for identity verification and payment processing timelines, ensure that you register for your interview at least 3 days before your preferred test date and time. If you require accommodations, see below for additional timing requirements. We do not recommend last-minute bookings.

Assessment and Distribution Pricing:

• University of Ottawa: $18.00 CAD
• Queen’s University: $14.00 CAD

(Queen’s University’s early-phase MMI pricing has been negotiated by the university, taking into consideration that applicants to Queen’s must also take Casper.)
